Budgeting Worksheet Tip : How to Handle Irregular Income or Expenses One of the most difficult parts of budgeting that people tell me they struggle with is how to budget for those irregular expenses such as real estate taxes or car insurance that are due twice a year. Another difficulty is for irregular income if someone is on commission or business-related income.
Instead, let’s fill our classrooms with meaningful, thoughtful lessons and activities that peak student interest and promote higher-level learning. And that is a message worth copying and handing out!
So why wouldn’t I consider a skill and drill worksheet as an appropriate tool for accomplishing those repetitions?
Before you buy worksheets, make sure to check if they have been created to suit the geographical location that you reside in. The language and usage of words differs from country to country. It is no point buying a worksheet which is designed for children in the US for children residing in India. Also see if the worksheets involve just one way of teaching or multiple ways. Do the worksheets involve short assessments? Does it have some activity built in; does it involve elements from the child’s surroundings?
Let’s look at something we all can relate to, diet and exercise. We start with a goal in mind, for example, to lose eight pounds. Let’s say, we’ve decided to workout five days a week for one month and we are starting next Monday. This is a great example of a way to set a beginning and end date of a goal. A great way to keep track of this is to have a goal setting worksheet filled out in advance, gyms and all types of diets offer these worksheets. Where we can write down our goal, track our progress, and set an end date with a particular result in mind. Yet, for most of us, when it comes to an online business, we expect to get started and get immediate results, and then get discouraged when we don’t. Do you know the feeling? Me too, I’ve been there and done that!
Finally, take the information you have learned and create a budget for next month using a monthly budget worksheet. On this worksheet, you will fill in your income along with your fixed expenses, fixed variables, occasional expenses, and installments such as credit card payments. After you total up your income and all expenses you will be able to see if you have an excess at the end of the month or if you are short. If you are short, now is the time to cut back on some occasional expenses as well as some fixed variable expenses in order to operate a working monthly budget.
